A few months ago I discovered a little tucked away place in San Mateo, CA. It serves a Japanese treat called taiyaki (in their case, chibi taiyaki). The place is Sweat Breams, with a very cozy little space with a big screen, coffee, issues of Giant Robot, and of course...little fish-shaped pastries full of stuff you all like.
What is also noticeable is that they have art on the walls, which they rotate every other month or so, with an obvious leaning towards anime and asian-themed works.
They take submissions, so artists here at DA of the aforementioned bent may want to give the folks at Sweet Breams a ping and see if they would showcase your work there. Their most recent works include those of our own Liz Lorini, aka Blush-Art

2021: is it safe to come out yet?
It's 2021...well, I suppose let's get on with it. I'm not much for new year resolutions (if you want to do something, do it, and don't wait for an arbitrary calendar object to do so). I just spent the last four days eating mostly fish and game across the Mendocino Coast (Northern California, between Marin and Lost Coast regions). Isolated, quiet, and sparsely populated with people or things that aren't found in the wilderness. I figure start the year the way you want to; let the rest fall into place. As always, Illegitimum non carborundum and to a few select coppula eam si non posit acceptera jocularum.
