ive wanted to comment on something of yours for some time, but i have had a hard time finding a single piece to try and break apart in my own head. and yet, i still have not found that piece but i thought i would say something anyway.

you have an incredible ability at mixing mediums, something that i am insanely jealous of. and on top of being able to mix mediums, you also mix bnrush-stroke and line so wasily, and so fluidly...its rather remarkable.

i am not too sure how i feel about the idea of a "portrait"....i never have been too settled on that idea. but what you have been doing with this serious is...well, fantastic. you have been able to do what i have been trying to do for so long...your portraits are simply personal, and yet...almost un-inviting and distant. it is a really interesting balance, and i have no clue how you are pulling it off.

i have this unsettling feeling that we have both been inspired by the same people for a long long time now.

wicked. i love the colors and i really dig the textures your brushstrokes have created here. rad work as usual. man that fiery background looks sooo good...
