This is great. Any hopes to make a series of this? If so... it'd be so great to see your jestural lines take on a saxaphone.

Almost anything I do is subject to being serialized depending on my mood and whether I think I can develop a workable concept.
Truth be told, I already have several other jazzmen lined up, although most are more obscure than Mr. Mingus (i.e. Grachan Moncur III and Gary Bartz)

"Poetry should surprise by a fine excess ... should strike the Reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance."-John Keats
V5 is a bit more intense with the red colours and all which goes along fine with Mingus' music and it also has a slightly better skin toning then this one, but I' more charmed by this one.
I like the woodcarving-like lines you've used in tihs work and the monotone blue goes better with the subject and adds to the timeless like feel. Mayby a brow/yelow-ish tone would be great here too > a bit in the line of what you got going in V5 in the skin tones.
Great quality.
