We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Almost anything I do is subject to being serialized depending on my mood and whether I think I can develop a workable concept.
Truth be told, I already have several other jazzmen lined up, although most are more obscure than Mr. Mingus (i.e. Grachan Moncur III and Gary Bartz)

I adopted ~djthedj & ~ wanderingjizo.

V5 is a bit more intense with the red colours and all which goes along fine with Mingus' music and it also has a slightly better skin toning then this one, but I' more charmed by this one.
I like the woodcarving-like lines you've used in tihs work and the monotone blue goes better with the subject and adds to the timeless like feel. Mayby a brow/yelow-ish tone would be great here too > a bit in the line of what you got going in V5 in the skin tones.
