Vinyl Remix: Prince v11

This is another addition to the Vinyl Remix series. This is also so far removed several times over that it is yet another case where it only works as seen in large scale.

The 12" vinyl sleeve was covered in frosted acetate then worked over with acrylic paint, acrylic ink, gouache, screenprinting ink, and who knows what else so many times over the last 3-4 years, that it simply became a weird animal that I could not get to fruition. This is as close as i have been able to get it to an interesting enough evolved state from its origins.

After the analog, it's been worked over with Photoshop, GIMP and Inkscape at various turns.

There isn't a single square centimeter of the original sleeve that isn't coated in a dozen layers of...stuff. But the result is fun.

I'm going to make a gonzo sized print of it and put it in my office to annoy my staff.

If it is not obvious, this is from the Prince album Parade which carried the mega-hit Kiss, but also had what I felt were some better songs, like Mountains and Life Can Be So Nice. Live bootlegs from this era show a full Revolution band at near peak levels of win.
