I do recommend that everyone get
familiar with the
FAQ/HelpdeskThere is also the
DA Status Forum (always informative), and the
Etiquette Policy is something you should all refer to, because I do tend to lurk about in several of the public forums.
================================================================================
I have been described as an open source geek, a policy wonk, and even a bit of a creative illustrator (the latter being what folks here are most likely familiar with). All are at least partially true I suppose. I've been called all manner of adjectives, most of them contrarian. I was described once as a cross between Tucker Carlson and Lenny Kravitz. I have neither bow ties nor dreadlocks, but the description sounded incredibly cool, so I figured it was worth mentioning here.
I initially studied an individual major in Foreign Affairs and Technology Policy at UC Davis (with a language component at UC Berkeley), and am now starting to take coursework in Civil Litigation. I currently work in a few venues: a networking startup in Silicon Valley and do consulting to a corporate attorney in private practice, as well as occasional projects that meet my requirements for being interesting (which is a pretty broad category of potential). As one can derive from all of this, I do not do
idle well, and I am not prone to boredom.
Here at DA I worked the HD for a year before moving to one of the Gallery Director slots for Traditional, until I sent myself out into the sunset in May of 2008. My own focus is on mixed media and looking for people who have yet to establish themselves. I periodically write content features, and regularly contribute to several of the forums.
